Over the last few years, discussions about our business and our creative lives have begun to turn to the topic of Next Chapters. We had (and continue to have) a lot of ideas and ambitions within and outside of Hemlock & Heather, but throughout those conversations a definitive theme began to emerge: A need for community and a sense of belonging among us small business owners. 

As entrepreneurs, we often feel like we are on an island. Our problems (and there are many) seem unique to us. And the solutions? Well, the internet is full of information, but it’s not always obvious how to tell the good info from the useless. 

We realized that one of the things we look forward to the most about attending Magnolia’s Spring at the Silos, Silobration, and Christmas at the Silos events is the opportunity to be among our peers. Just having the chance to chat with other creatives, to vent about the kind of problems we experience, even if no obvious solution is forthcoming, is cathartic. Inevitably, we come away from those events reinvigorated and ready to not just tackle those pressing issues but to thrive.

But we’d always get home with the best intentions to stay in touch, to share information, and help each other stay motivated and energized. But then real life would settle in and we’d find ourselves back to the day-to-day grind just trying to keep all the balls in the air. 

We began to ask ourselves how we could sustain that feeling of camaraderie and community, to extend it beyond just a couple of hours snatched between trips to the bathroom and long stints in the booth a few times a year. We knew there had to be a way.

What we came up with is The Founders Club, a space for founders, small business owners, creatives, entrepreneurs, makers, side hustlers, and garage dwellers to GATHER, CONNECT, and INSPIRE one another. 

So whether you own a small business or you have a side hustle that you want to turn into your full time hustle, we invite you to join us. Help us build this community, and lift each other up.
