Kelley and I both come from small Texas towns that were heavily influenced by the German-Czech people who settled there in the mid 19th Century. The local cultures in West and La Grange reflect that influence even today and echoes of those influences can be seen in both of these towns' annual celebrations - West Fest in West and The Fayette County Fair in La Grange (whose fairgrounds are home to the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center).

We made the first Czech Texas for a friend, and the response was overwhelming. We knew we needed to make more.

But neither Kelley nor I are of Czech ancestry (we're both of mixed British, Irish, and Italian ancestry), so we decided to make a few other flag-inspired Texas wall hangings to reflect the influences other peoples and cultures have had on Texas.
